The High Street Consultancy congratulates Graham Galpin on IPM Senior Fellowship honour

Friends and colleagues celebrate Graham Galpin’s IPM Senior Fellowship and the impact he continues to have across the profession.

Everyone at The High Street Consultancy would like to congratulate our colleague Graham Galpin on being awarded a Senior Fellowship by the Institute of Place Management.

The honour was formally presented at last week’s IPM Symposium in Manchester and recognises Graham’s outstanding contribution to place management, town centres, local economies and communities over more than three decades.

Highest honour

Senior Fellowship is the highest honour bestowed by the Institute of Place Management, recognising individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to place leadership, place management, placemaking, place policy or place research.

In announcing the award, the Institute of Place Management highlighted Graham’s long-standing commitment to supporting places and the people who care about them.

Friend and mentor

While the Institute’s announcement focuses on Graham’s professional achievements and contribution to the sector, colleagues at The High Street Consultancy wanted to share some personal reflections on the impact he has had as a friend, mentor and collaborator.

Graham Soult said:

“Graham has always been a great source of friendship, knowledge and wisdom during my eight years as a Fellow of IPM, and more recently a valued colleague as part of The High Street Consultancy.

“It was such a pleasure to be there to see Graham’s contribution to our sector recognised in front of his peers at last week’s IPM Symposium in Manchester, with Graham uncharacteristically lost for words!”

Matt Colledge:

“This is richly deserved recognition for a true place changer. Graham has delivered place-based transformation as well as contributing to policy development resulting in the much needed High Streets Task Force, and we are pleased to have his experience within The High Street Consultancy.”

Ian Ferguson:

“I have admired Graham’s work from afar having seen him speak at conferences over the years and noting his influence and work on the Timpson Panel.

“More recently it has been a privilege to work with him as part of The High Street Consultancy, and to benefit from his knowledge and experience in supporting the evolution of our town and city centres.”

Emma James:

“I have loved working with Graham over the last few years and have learned so much from him in terms of his overarching insight into all things place. I’m delighted that this has been recognised in his appointment as a Senior Fellow, which is a real recognition from a peer network that we all value so much.”

Everyone at The High Street Consultancy congratulates Graham on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to continuing to benefit from his experience, insight and friendship in the years ahead.
